Nasty Women Exhibition: Nashville featuring Crowing Hens Bindery

  • The Basement East 917 Woodland Street Nashville, TN, 37206 United States (map)
NastyWomenNashville

This is the Nashville sister of the Nasty Women Exhibition in Queens, NYC. This is a group exhibition that serves to demonstrate solidarity among artists who identify with being a Nasty Woman in the face of threats to roll back women’s rights, individual rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and immigrant rights. It also serves as a fundraiser to support organizations defending these rights and to be a platform for organization after the Trump Presidential Inauguration in January.

The works in this exhibition will be available for sale – 100% of the sale will go to The Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition. All art is Cash & Carry.

Featured female and female identifying artists from Middle Tennessee will be exhibiting two dimensional, three dimensional, installation, video, music works and performances in response to the current social and political climates largely surrounding gender, human rights, and immigration.*

My submission to the Nasty Women Exhibit, entitled, "Are you a boy or a girl?" addresses preconceived ideas of gender, appearance, privacy, and entitled, intrusive curiosity. One matted and framed print from the edition will be available for sale at…
